I have ALWAYS been drawn to Anais NIn. I don't think of her so much as having been troubled, but rather someone who was SUPREMELY introspective, someone who was KEENLY self aware of man's inner contradictions, and someone who had the courage to explore those contradictions in a rather public manner. She was EVER inquisitive — which I equate directly to intelligence. I have always felt that she was a SUPER sensitive person. In the movie, "Beloved Immortal," about the life of Beethoven, there is a line that goes: "It is only the finest blades that are blunted, bent or broken." Just as Olympic athletes show us the physical potential of human kind, I feel that Anais Nin showed us quite a bit about the emotional potential of human kind.

Wonderful image and quote. I love her quotations. She really was a troubled soul and her writing was exceptionally insightful.
